  • About the wood

Macassar Ebony (Also named Amara Ebony or Striped Ebony) is a very dark wood with occasional brighter stripes of brown throughout its grain. It is found in Southeast Asia and is one of the most expensive and sought-after types of wood in the world due to a limited supply, slow growth and excessive logging.
Wild Cherry is mostly found in Europe and has a brown colour with a slight golden tint to it. The wood will turn darker with exposure to sunlight and may obtain a slightly more reddish colour.
Note that the colour of your ring may slightly vary from the ones pictured above making each ring truly unique.

    The bentwood technique explained

This ring is made by hand, using the bentwood technique. The wood is steamed and then bent around the circumference of the ring. The result of this process is a thin yet very strong ring. Note that there will always be a seam in every bentwood ring. This seam is more or less visible depending on the type of wood you ring is made of.

    The rings finish

The ring is treated with several layers of water-resistant varnish. To maintain a very natural look and feel, excess varnish is removed after each application. This way the ring is protected against occasional soaking while maintaining its natural feel and enhancing its colours. We strongly recommend taking it off when washing hands, dealing with chemicals or for manual labour though.
